More people are deciding to take a stay-cation and are not really focused on either hiring staff or looking for a new role. However, once we move into September recruitment normally starts to pick up again but this will be affected by the Government Furlough Scheme starting to ramp down, until it finishes on the 1st November 2020. Most industry experts expect a higher number of redundancies to be made compared to last year and for the unemployment figure to increase dramatically. If you are at risk of losing your job then you should be proactive and prepare now, rather than be reactive once the event has occurred in order to give yourself the best possible chance of job continuity and financial security.
